The biological culture indicator is a biological testing tool used to detect microbial contamination and is widely applied in the monitoring of microbial conditions in medical equipment, pharmaceutical factories, water treatment systems and other places. It consists of a culture medium and microbial indicators. The culture medium provides nutrients and a growth environment, while the microbial indicators are specially cultivated and purified microbial cells that can produce specific microbial reactions to detect whether the corresponding microorganisms are present in the sample.
Purpose & Mechanism
For biological monitoring of ethylene oxide sterilizers. The spores are those of Bacillus subtilis var. niger. Survival time: ≥15 minutes; Killing time: ≤60 minutes.
Usage Method
Place the indicator in a standard test kit inside the pot. After sterilization, squeeze out the ampoule and incubate with a control tube at 37°C for 48 hours.
Reading Results
Green (No color change) = Sterilization Passed. Yellow = Sterilization Failed. Control tube must be yellow; if negative, check culture conditions.
