Steam Sterilization Biological Indicator

This product uses Geobacillus stearothermophilus (ATCC7953) as the indicator organism. It consists of a spore strip, recovery medium (sealed in a glass tube), and a plastic outer shell. It detects the survival of spores via fluorescent technology, allowing a sterilization result to be obtained within 3 hours to determine whether the steam sterilization cycle was successful. The spore content is ≥1.0×10⁵ cfu per unit. At 121°C ±1saturated steam, the D value is ≥1.5 minutes.

Scope of Application

Suitable for monitoring the effectiveness of 132°C and 134°C pressure steam sterilization processes.

Method of Use

Record necessary sterilization management details (date, operator, etc.) on the label blank area.
Place the test package in the hardest-to-sterilize location inside the pressure steam sterilizer.
After sterilization, remove the indicator and cool for 10 minutes. Use a dedicated card to break the internal glass tube.
Ensure the spore strip is completely immersed in the culture medium and insert into the reader.
Use an unsterilized indicator from the same batch as a positive control.
Incubate in the reader for 3 hours. For color change observation, continue up to 48 hours.

Fluorescence Test Result Interpretation

1. Fluorescence Positive (red light or "+"): Indicates sterilization failure.

2. Fluorescence Negative (green light or "−"): Indicates sterilization success.

3. Positive Control: Must show a fluorescence positive result for the test to be valid.
